An Irish company has announced the launch of a new mobile application called SafeBox, which can be downloaded for free from the safebox.mobi website, and which allows mobile users to create a secret mobile space inside of their cell phone to communicate by SMS privately.
SafeBox is an innovative mobile application using advanced levels of encryption and security technologies to send and receive private SMS (either normal or encrypted) within a private circle of contacts (secret list of contacts).

With an application, that is easy to use, free to download, available in multiple languages, and works on hundreds of cell phone models (Java phones and Symbian phones supporting J2ME), SafeBox takes the concept of mobile privacy to another level.

The private SMS, phonebook and notes stored in the SafeBox app are invisible to anyone looking inside the cell phone as they do not appear in the normal folders of the phone.
The application has also a PIN protection to prevent undesired access in the event that the mobile phone is ever lost, stolen or get into the wrong hands for a while.
