Can you use a IP spoofing program if a Network Admin requires your MAC Address?
If an administrator requires you to give your MAC Address to connect to the network, will an IP spoof or masking program do any good in hiding your tracks? If not, is there any way to surf anonymously if your MAC Address is required?
By anonymously, I mean so that the Network administrator cannot track what you do online. I mean to connect to the network anonymously, not be anonymous to people who check your browser history
So, being an admin myself, you need to understand this: they require your MAC address because of a switching term called “sticky security”. See, they don’t want anyone but you plugging into their network, so only your MAC is allowed to claim that it is your computer. That way, some goofball can’t connect to the network.
Anyway, so they’re tracking you on what’s called a proxy server. You won’t even know it’s there. It’s a “transparent” proxy server. If you want to surf anonymously, then you can attempt to use another proxy, called an anonymizer. But if your network admin is worth two rat turds, then he’s blocked access to those.
